At this year’s major spring runways, eye-popping, playful prints were all the rage. However, there were three types of styles that stood out and are trending this season: floral, geometric shapes and animal prints.
Floral
The floral pattern has made its transition from clothing to shoes—heels, loafers and flats in particular. A floral shoe is a fantastic way to add a touch of femininity to an ensemble without overdoing it. Wearing floral heels is a great way to have that girly look—even if you’re wearing neutral colors. It’s also an easy way to spruce up a casual outfit, like when you wear skinny jeans with a t-shirt.
Geometric Shapes
Geometrical prints, especially stripes, are huge this season. Stripes—usually reserved for work clothes—adds a traditionally elegance to your casual outfit. Vertical, horizontal and even diagonal stripes are especially trendy. Other geometrical prints, such as zigzags, triangles and polka dots, are also chic this spring and summer season.
Animal Prints
Leopard, snakeskin and zebra prints have always been popular, but there are some new styles making noise this season: shoes with full images of tigers, cats, lizards and even sea creatures on them. But the animal pattern that seemed to take on a life of its own on the runways was the bird print. Inspired by freedom and open wilderness, this happy-go-lucky print will allow fashionistas to channel their inner free spirit while looking uniquely stylish. But if you’re not ready to make the leap into tigers, lizards and birds, oh my, leopard print is always a good starting point. Animal prints make regular jeans pop, and adds sizzle to a causal spring and summer dress.
